National Health Center Week: Children’s Health and School-Based Health Clinic Day
Today, we’re celebrating CHC’s contribution to Children’s Health and School-Based Health Clinics.
More than 8 million children in the US get their primary health care from a Community Health Center. From well-child checks to book drives and fun runs, health centers host events that will help children feel healthy, happy, and empowered now and in the future.
Dental Kits for Local Students
This year we partnered with Edmonds, Mukilteo, and Everett school districts to provide kids with smile checks, sealants, and fluoride throughout the school year. We are also donating 1,000 dental kits to EACH district for kids to kick off their school year. Dental kits include a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and a personal hygiene pouch so kids can now brush at school as well.
Back to School Fair in Edmonds
Our School-Based Health Center at Meadowdale High School is seeing lots of kids in need of medical and dental healthcare. Members of our staff will be participating in the annual back to school fair with Edmonds School District on Aug. 17. We will provide students that attend the fair, sports physicals, and dental screenings. We strive to provide care for the children to ease back to school and reduce any burden on the families!
Celebrating our Pediatric Patients
Today we’re celebrating our young patients by offering gift bags (coloring books and crayons) upon check-in for an appointment at a CHC clinic.
