Specialized Care for Children

Children learn and grow so much during their first few years of life.

As a parent, the best way you can help your child is to make sure they are developing both mentally and physically at a pediatric-recommended rate. If you notice that your child is struggling in any area, that could be a sign of an underlying physical issue (poor eyesight, hearing, etc.).

The Importance of Finding a Reliable Pediatrician

Pediatric services have an array of benefits, including:

a How often does my child need well-child checkups?

The first few years of your child’s life are pivotal in terms of development. Children learn how to walk, talk, and their mental development skyrockets during this time.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children receive at least nine well-child checkups during their first three years of life.

You should ask your pediatrician how many well-child checkups he/she recommends during your baby’s first year. After your child reaches one year old, your child should have at least three more checkups before the age of two.

a When should I vaccinate my child?

Vaccinations are most effective when given to young children. Your pediatrician will likely recommend the best age for your child to be vaccinated. There are specific pediatrician recommended ages for administering certain shots.

If you have concerns that your child has missed important vaccinations, contact your pediatrician and speak with him/her about having your child’s shots updated.
