What Is Behavioral Health Care?

Did you know that your physical health can affect your mental health? Or that your mental health can affect your physical health? While exercise, diet, and general medical care are important, paying attention to your mental health is also important. Community Health Center of Snohomish County’s (CHC) holistic approach to healthcare can drastically improve your overall health!

A Holistic Approach to Mental Health

Our behavioral health specialists can communicate with your primary care provider to offer the best options for your health. If your CHC primary care provider notices symptoms that our behavioral specialist experts can help you with, they can refer you to an appointment with one of these experts. By working together, you, your primary care provider, and our behavioral health specialists can create a care plan designed for your body AND mind.

Our behavioral health experts provide mental health support that allows our patients to be in the driver’s seat of their care. Our clinics are in the neighborhoods our patients live in, and we know the challenges many patients face in their day-to-day lives. CHC is here to help. By working with a professional practitioner, you can address the symptoms and cater to your or your loved one’s needs.

Comprehensive Behavioral Health Services

CHC provides behavioral health services for adult patients with common mental disorders and addiction issues. These include but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Substance Use (Chemical Dependency)

In these times, access to mental healthcare is as important as access to medical healthcare. As with all services provided by CHC, behavioral health services can be provided regardless of whether you have insurance or not.

Mental health conditions we can help with include but are not limited to:

Anxiety

Anxiety disorders can make completing tasks very difficult. Our team of therapists has the training and experience to help you identify the source of your anxiety and work on achieving your desired behavior. We also receive support from our general physicians, so we can provide therapy while you receive medication.

Depression

Major Depressive Disorder affects millions of Americans every year. Also known as MDD, this disorder can cause a number of different symptoms. Our team of mental health practitioners can provide therapy and other forms of essential treatment.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

People involved in traumatic events can experience Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Although it’s common in veterans, this condition can affect any person who has experienced a traumatizing event. By working with our team of behavioral health experts, you can learn to cope with these events to help you manage your symptoms better.

Substance Abuse

In many parts of the world, substance abuse is largely regarded as a mental health issue. At CHC, we have an addiction support program to help adults who are trying to overcome substance abuse problems.
