Update – both the House and Senate released their budget proposals on February 22, 2026. We are pleased to share that neither proposal includes changes to the 340B Medicaid pharmacy benefit or adult dental benefits—a significant win for community health centers and the patients we serve.
The next step is for the House and the Senate to reconcile their proposals and finalize a unified budget by March 12. While final decisions have not yet been made, we remain optimistic that the approved state budget will continue to protect funding for the 340B Pharmacy Program and adult dental benefits.
Thank you to the staff, patients, and community members who contacted your legislators in support of these vital programs. Your advocacy made a difference. We are close to securing the outcome we have been working toward together.

The 340B Pharmacy Program is essential to our work. It helps fund:
- Free and low-cost prescription medications
- Chronic disease management
- Substance use disorder treatment
- Behavioral health services
- Many other life-saving programs
If changes to the 340B Pharmacy benefit move forward, this entire funding source could be eliminated for community health centers and other safety net providers—leading to service reductions and pharmacy closures.
Proposed federal and state cuts to community health centers and the 340B Pharmacy Program would significantly reduce access to care across the state. At a time when an estimated 400,000 Washingtonians could lose health coverage, retaining services provided by safety net providers is more critical than ever.
