Special Interests:
I’m a third-generation Mexican American and have been living in the Seattle area for over eight years. Before that, I lived in Kansas, where I was born. In my spare time, I love traveling with my wife and exploring new food spots. I enjoy reading and watching horror books and movies, practicing Spanish, going to concerts, running, and spending time outdoors. My wife and I have three pets: a pug named Benito, and two grumpy cats, Little and Noah.
I’m interested in culturally responsive and trauma-informed therapy across the lifespan with diverse communities. My work has been deeply shaped by nearly seven years at a Native behavioral health clinic, where I supported children, adolescents, and families using play-based, experiential, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. With adults, I enjoy incorporating Internal Family Systems and somatic-based modalities. I’m particularly drawn to work that honors culture, identity, and the healing power of relationships.
I Believe:
It is an honor to walk alongside clients on their healing journeys. I view therapy and mental health services as a collaborative relationship, and as a therapist, I am here to support clients in making their own decisions and processing complex emotions in ways that help them reach their goals. For children and youth ages 18 and under, therapy can provide a valuable opportunity to learn about themselves, identify and express emotions in healthy ways, and build positive relationships with themselves and others. For children ages 13 and under, play is their primary language, which is why play therapy offers a developmentally appropriate way for them to process emotions and experiences. Regardless of cultural background or identity, my priority is to foster a safe, welcoming therapeutic space where trust, collaboration, and healing can develop.
