Dr. Ritika Chandra, LYN Dental Clinical Director, was selected as one of DentaQuest’s 2020 Health Equity Heroes—a Hero in the Age of COVID-19. Her contributions in developing our teledentistry program, to address equity related to health care in these challenging times, has not gone unnoticed. Dr. Chandra was one of twelve individuals from across the nation selected for this award.
As Dr. Chandra treated patients at our Everett-North clinic during the spring when dentistry was limited to only urgent care, she quickly recognized the need to be able to better triage dental emergencies in a way that limited face-to-face contact. She was a major contributor in allowing CHC to launch teledentistry in just one week and also trained several other providers and support staff along the way. Her innovation and adaptation to change amidst the pandemic has been inspirational.
